Deine Aufgaben

Komm zu uns als Werkstudent (m/w/d) im Bereich Data Science/Machine Learning und werde Teil unseres Data Platform Teams! Wir sind für die Bereitstellung der Dateninfrastruktur von nexmart und deren Leistungsfähigkeit verantwortlich. Wir konzentrieren uns auf den Aufbau effizienter Datenprozesse und übernehmen die volle Verantwortung für Pipelines, die es den Geschäftsbereichen ermöglichen, nahtlos mit Daten zu arbeiten, während wir gleichzeitig strenge Governance- und Qualitätsstandards einhalten. Unser Team sorgt dafür, dass Daten als strategischer Vermögenswert behandelt werden und durch effektive Datenmanagementpraktiken sowohl technische als auch geschäftliche Anforderungen unterstützt werden.

Wir suchen einen Werkstudenten, der uns vor allem im Bereich Data Science Modeling unterstützt, aber auch offen ist, im ML Engineering mitzuarbeiten.

Als Werkstudent im Data Platform Team hilfst du bei der Auswertung und Analyse von Daten mit Python und SQL, präsentierst die Ergebnisse in Meetings und dokumentierst sie.
Du unterstützt die Erstentwicklung, das Testen und die Weiterentwicklung von Machine-Learning-Prototypen in Zusammenarbeit mit Data & ML Engineers und anderen Data Scientists.
Außerdem unterstützt du das Team dabei, die Lösung und neue Erkenntnisse Personen außerhalb des Fachbereichs zu erklären und zu veranschaulichen.
Darüber hinaus assistierst du bei Recherchen, z. B. zu wissenschaftlichen Publikationen, Technologien und Trends.

Dein Profil

Du begeisterst dich für KI/ML und hast bereits erste Erfahrungen in diesem Bereich (idealerweise auch mit NLP) durch Studium oder Praktika gesammelt.
Du verfügst über gute Mathematikkenntnisse (z. B. Statistik, lineare Algebra, Wahrscheinlichkeitsrechnung), die du durch dein Studium oder Projekte nachweisen kannst, und bist in der Lage, Daten verständlich zu visualisieren.
Du möchtest in einem praxisorientierten Umfeld mehr über die Entwicklung von KI in Unternehmen, einschließlich MLOps und Data Engineering, lernen.
Du arbeitest gerne selbstständig und im Team und übernimmst gerne Verantwortung für Teilaufgaben.
Du bist mit MS Office, idealerweise auch mit Atlassian-Tools (Confluence, Jira) vertraut und hast erste Erfahrungen mit agilen Arbeitsweisen (Sprints, User Stories).

Your tasks

Join us as a working student (m/f/d) in Data Science/Machine Learning and become part of our Data Platform Team! We, the Data Platform Team, are responsible for enabling nexmart’s data infrastructure and ensuring its performance. We focus on building efficient data processes and take full ownership of pipelines that empower business units to work with data seamlessly, while maintaining strong governance and quality standards. Our team ensures that data is treated as a strategic asset, supporting both technical and business needs through effective data management practices.

We are looking for a working student to support us primarily in the field of data science modelling, but also has an open mind to help in ML engineering.

As a working student in the Data Platform Team, you will help evaluate and analyse data using Python and SQL, present the results in meetings and document them.
You will support the initial development, testing and further development of machine learning prototypes in collaboration with Data & ML Engineers and other Data Scientists.
You will also support the team in explaining and illustrating the solution and new findings to people outside the field.
Furthermore, you will assist with research, e.g. on scientific publications, technologies and trends.

Requirements

You are passionate about AI/ML and you have already gained some initial experience in this field (ideally even with NLP) through studies or internships.
You have a good understanding of mathematics (e.g. statistics, linear algebra, probabilities), proven through your studies or projects, and can visualise data in a comprehensible way.
You would like to learn more about the development of corporate AI, including MLOps and data engineering, in a practical setting.
You enjoy working independently as well as in a team and find it easy to take responsibility for sub-tasks.
You are familiar with MS Office, ideally also with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira), and have initial experience with agile working (sprints, user stories).
